It's been roughly four or five years since I lived in Calgary with my cousin Julia. And nearly as long since we've hung out together. This weekend really brought to light how much we've changed over those years. There's no more crazy stampede incidences, late nights at the bar, or Pizza Hut dough making in the middle of the night. There's no more trips to the Lake or bus rides to school together... and it's been years since we've stumbled up a mountainside chasing what we though were cougar prints. For the past four or five years the "cuz cru" had been separated, but this weekend we were reunited. There wasn't any drinking or mountains involved, instead we discussed the latest in diaper rash remedies and chased after our daughters. We discovered that even though so much distance had been between us over the years, the paths we traveled down were quite similar. For me this weekend marked the beginning of a new friendship and laid to rest our past troubled times.

(Ok, so the kids thought that one picture would suffice... we tried to capture the perfect picture and it just wasn't happening... when one kid was sitting and smiling the other was trying to escape... this is what we ended up with)
