Family Gathering

Ok, so most of you that read this blog know of the family get-together at Uncle Gary's place because you were there... for those select few of you that weren't there, well... here's the recap! Every year at Christmas the family gets together to celebrate, but this year was special (not only because we did it twice) but also because we got to meet the newbies (Dave and Heather's twin boys). The twins were so incredibly adorable, and I was overjoyed to get some quality cousin-cuddle time in. Uncle Gary decided to bless us with his lederhosen! We were all reminded of the children's story book "hansel and gretel"... I think Uncle Gary made a great Hansel! Andrew snagged a great shot of everyone around the table... thanks for that!
Ev and I had our first every photo op together! I have to warn you before you scroll down to see it, I am NOT drunk. In fact we were only on our first cup of coffee and baileys. (I swear that's the truth). I guess I have Krista's great photography abilities to thank for the shot. Makes you wonder how much of the tabloid stories and photos are actually true. If I were a famous person you could concoct one heck of a good drunken story! Thankfully I'm not and I wasn't so I don't have to worry about that. Other than the fact that I look wasted, I love the photo.
With the exception of Lydia (who was busy with work), Erik (who is in Europe and has been for an eternity now - will he ever come back? we don't know!), and Matt (in the physical form anyway) all of the cousins were present at Uncle Gary's shindig! It was great. I remember the days when the adults used to be the majority group at these functions, but this time it seemed as though us kids with our kids were ruling the roost. It was kinda weird to be in this room full of cousins that I used to play in mud puddles with and have quiet time with. Now we're all sitting around talking about our kids! It was totally crazy to see how old we've all gotten.

Anyways, congrats to Dave and Heather on two beautiful twin boys... you all seemed healthy and happy. Ev, I look forward to many more photos... and cups of spiked coffee! Julia, it's always a pleasure (ps. Zo is so cute). Krista, you're a riot; here's to more trips to the park. Aunt Sally, you're a crazy good cook... I'm counting down the days till Easter. Uncle Gary, what can I say, the pants said it all. Oma, we missed you. Get better soon. To the girls in the livingroom (Krista, Julia, Ev, Aunt Moni) we should do that more often. Aunt Moni, I think you and I are the only ones up for the spa... I'm totally there, we'll make it a girls thing!
